The numerous rivers that feed the Sacramento Delta have undergone massive changes over the last several decades from dams and other alterations that have changed the rivers’ natural course, flow and hydrology. Two of the largest rivers, the Sacramento and San Joaquin, are the focus of my studies within this series.

The California Least Tern and the Delta Smelt are just two species affected by dams.
